Dr. Rahul C. Ranveer is a distinguished Professor at the PG Institute of Post-Harvest Management and Technology, BSKKV, Dapoli, Maharashtra, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Food Technology from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, with his research focused on microencapsulation of pigments from tomato and kokum processing industry waste. With over 23 years of teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, he has significantly contributed to the field of food science and technology.
Dr. Ranveer has guided numerous students, including 2 Ph.D. candidates, 6 M. Tech, and more than 100 students across other programs. His research interests include food processing, nutraceuticals, and waste utilization, leading him to work on several projects funded by prestigious agencies like DST-MOFPI and UGC. Notably, he has secured grants to explore microencapsulation and the development of healthy food products, reflecting his commitment to innovation in food technology.
He has authored numerous book chapters and co-authored five books on topics such as food processing, nutrition, and antimicrobial packaging. Dr. Ranveer's research has been widely published, with 64 international publications and numerous national contributions. His work on food waste utilization, particularly in bioactive compounds and enzyme technology, has garnered recognition, earning him multiple awards, including the Outstanding Scientific Award by VD Good Professional Association in 2022.
Additionally, Dr. Ranveer holds patents, including a granted patent for an egg spoilage test strip, and others related to prebiotic foods and anthocyanin extraction. He has also actively presented his research at national and international conferences, winning accolades for his contributions. Dr. Ranveer's dedication to advancing food technology and sustainable practices has established him as a respected figure in his field.
