Prof. Aliakbar Montazer Haghighi is a distinguished mathematician and academic leader with a career spanning over five decades. He is currently a Professor (Tenured) at Prairie View A&M University, Texas, USA, where he has served since 2002, including a long tenure as the Head of the Mathematics Department (2002–2021). Before this, he held faculty positions at Benedict College (1985–2002) and National University of Iran (Beheshti University, 1981–1985). His administrative roles include Acting President, Vice President for Research, and Department Head at the Institute of Statistics and Informatics in Tehran (1968–1981).

Significant Achievements

Prof. Haghighi has made substantial contributions to the field of mathematics, particularly in statistics, probability theory, and mathematical modeling. His research output includes 67 publications, including refereed books, lecture notes, and research papers. He has reviewed 162 research papers, evaluated 27 Ph.D./D.Sc. theses, and served as an advisor for multiple master's and undergraduate research projects. He has also played a crucial role in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and faculty evaluation in various academic institutions.

His leadership extends beyond academia, having chaired numerous committees and spearheaded initiatives in teacher education, institutional strategic planning, and grant proposal development. He has been actively involved in professional organizations, delivering keynote speeches, moderating conferences, and conducting workshops worldwide.

Prof. Haghighi has been instrumental in shaping mathematics education through course and degree program development and by serving as a mentor for aspiring researchers.
