Dr. Anil Kumar Pabby was serving Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Tarapur, Mumbai, Maharashtra, as Senior Scientist and retired on superannuation in July 2021. He did his Ph.D. from University of Mumbai, India and subsequently carried out his postdoctoral work at Technical university of Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Pabby has more than 213 publications to his credit including 20 chapters and two patent on non-dispersive membrane technology. He has also served as consultant to IAEA, Vienna, Austria for developing technical book volume on “Application of membrane technologies for liquid radioactive waste processing”. Dr. Pabby has taken a leading role in publishing “Handbook of membrane separation: Chemical, pharmaceutical, food and biotechnological applications’ in July 2008, and second and third edition published in April 2015 and December 2023 respectively . In addition to this, in 2020, Dr. Pabby has published a very popular book on HF contactors with the same publishers as a leading editor.

Dr Pabby has been elected as a Fellow of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences (FMASc) in 2003 for his outstanding contribution in membrane science and technology. Also, he has been awarded with prestigious Tarun Datta Memorial award (instituted by Indian Association Nuclear Chemist and Allied Scientist) in 2005 for his contribution in Nuclear and Radiochemistry. Recently, he has been awarded with the best international researcher award in the field of nuclear physics in July 2023. He is appointed as Associate Professor and Ph.D. guide and also M.Tech guide, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai. He has served as Secretary, Indian Association Nuclear Chemist and Allied Scientist, Tarapur chapter during 2008-2021. He is serving as Editor/editorial/advisory board member ofsome international peer reviewed journals (Separation and Purification Reviews, Desalination (2010-2014), Desalination and Water Treatment, Membrane Technology, Applied Membrane Science and Technology, Journal of Radioanalytical & Nuclear Chemistry (Editor , 2001-2005) . He is also reviewing the paper from national and international journals such as J. Membr. Sci., Desalination, Chemical Eng. Journal, Chemical Engineering and Processing, Separation and Purification Reviews, Separation Science and Technology, Solvent Extraction and Ion exchange, Environmental Science and Technology, Talanta, Ind. End. Chem. Res. and several others. He has also delivered several keynote/plenary/invited talk in national and international conferences. He has also served as chairman of the different sessions in conference in India and abroad. In addition, he has been visiting faculty at several universities/institutions across the globe.
