Dr. M. Ramakrishna Nanchara Rao has an illustrious academic career spanning over 33 years in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. He has held multiple prestigious academic and administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Physics at The Hindu College, Machilipatnam, and currently serves as Professor, Department of Physics and Advanced Analytical Laboratory, Andhra University (on deputation). His roles in academic governance include being a Member of the Executive Council and Finance Committee of Krishna University (2016–2019), and contributing to Boards of Studies and internal research at the University level.

Dr. Rao is actively engaged in cutting-edge research in Liquid Crystals and Nanotechnology. He has successfully completed a Major Research Project funded by the UGC and has guided two M.Phil. and two Ph.D. scholars, with three more currently under his supervision.
