Dr. Chaya Alfred is a highly esteemed Professor and Head in Oral Medicine and Radiology with over 30 years of experience in academic leadership, patient care, and research. As a dedicated educator and clinician, she has mentored numerous students, guided 25 postgraduate theses and three PhD scholars, and contributed significantly to oral healthcare research.

She possesses extensive expertise in diagnosing and treating oral diseases, oral cancer, and injuries, with a strong focus on patient education, medical records management, and clinical data interpretation. Additionally, she has played a pivotal role in medical research project management and training recruits in the field.

Dr. Alfred has authored two textbook chapters, published 65+ research papers, and has been actively involved in scientific presentations, conferences, and guest lectures. She is recognized for her passion for student success, curriculum development, and advancing the field of oral medicine and radiology.

  • APJ Abdul Kalam National Lifetime Achievement Award (2022) for teaching, research, and publications.
  • Dewang Mehta National Award for Best Professor in Radiology (2019).
