Dr. Sharmita Gupta is an accomplished academician and researcher in the field of Mycology, Virology, Plant Pathology, and Environmental Biotechnology. She has been associated with Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI) since 2009, where she has progressively served in various academic capacities—from Visiting Fellow to Assistant Professor (S3), a position she has held since May 2022. Over her 15+ years of experience, she has played critical roles in teaching, research, and institutional development.

    • 46 research papers and 10 book/book chapters.

  • Academic Guidance:

    • Supervised 28 M.Sc., 8 M.Phil., and 5 Ph.D. students (with 3 ongoing Ph.D. scholars).

    • Pioneering work on Fungal Viruses (Mycoviruses) — she was the only researcher in India working in this field till 2017.
