Dr. Radhey Shyam Kaushal is an esteemed Assistant Professor in the Department of Life Sciences – Biotechnology at Parul Institute of Applied Sciences, Parul University, Vadodara, India. He has been serving in this role since March 2017. Prior to this, he was a DST-SERB National Postdoctoral Fellow at the Molecular and Structural Biology Lab, CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. He also held prestigious fellowships as a CSIR Senior and Junior Research Fellow at the Department of Bioinformatics & Structural Biology, Indian Institute of Advanced Research, Gandhinagar.
Significant Achievements
Dr. Kaushal has successfully led and collaborated on multiple research projects in the fields of microbiology, structural biology, and biotechnology. His ongoing project, funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), focuses on assessing the water quality of ground and river water in Gujarat and identifying microorganisms responsible for waterborne diseases. He has also been the Principal Investigator for projects funded by DST-SERB, including research on Leishmania-macrophage interaction and tuberculosis drug targets.
With a strong research background, he has completed projects on oxidative stress proteins in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, nano-bioremediation of organic contaminants, and molecular cloning. His research contributions have been recognized with funding from premier agencies such as DST-SERB and Research & Development, Parul University.

Dr. Kaushal has made significant scholarly contributions, with 16 research publications, 7 book/book chapters, and numerous conference presentations (27 poster and 1 oral). He is an active participant in academic workshops, FDPs, and international collaborations. He is a life member of esteemed organizations such as the Indian Crystallography Association, Indian Biophysical Society, and International Union of Crystallography.
Through his research and teaching, Dr. Kaushal continues to advance knowledge in structural biology, biotechnology, and microbiology. His work has contributed to drug discovery, environmental bioremediation, and disease prevention.
