DR. K M METRY WON NOBEL RESEARCH AWARD IN THE FIELD OF DEPARTMENT OF TRIBAL STUDIES


Dr. K M Metry is a distinguished academician, researcher, and administrator with a career spanning over 38 years in teaching, 35 years in administration, and 34 years in research. He has made significant contributions to the field of Tribal Studies, Sociology, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, and Marginalized Communities.

He served as Vice-Chancellor of Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ballari, and as a Senior Professor of Tribal Studies at Kannada University, Hampi. Throughout his career, he has held several esteemed positions, including Dean, Director, Coordinator, and Chairperson in various academic and governmental bodies. His expertise extends to regional and cultural studies, ethnic studies, and social justice, making him a key figure in shaping tribal and marginalized community research in India.
