ASSOC.PROF. BAHIA ALHABIB ZEMNI WON EXCELLENT RESEARCHER AWARD IN THE FIELD OF LINGUISTICS AND TRANSLATION


Assoc. Prof. Bahia Alhabib Zemni is a distinguished scholar and faculty member at the College of Languages, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Saudi Arabia. With expertise in linguistics, translation studies, and intercultural communication, she has been actively engaged in academic and research endeavors since 2012. She has held significant roles, including Director of the Research Center and Scientific Research Coordinator at the College of Languages. She has also contributed as an advisor, editor, and project manager for prestigious institutions such as the Louvre Museum, Saudi Ministry of Culture, and King Abdulaziz Library.

Significant Achievements

Prof. Zemni has received numerous accolades for her contributions to linguistics and translation studies. She was honored with the Venus International Award for Excellence in Linguistics (2021-2022) and ranked first in humanities research publications at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in 2022 (as per Scopus data). She has been a keynote speaker and session chair at prestigious international conferences, including the International Conference on Languages (Qatar, 2024). Additionally, she has been actively involved in reviewing and proofreading French-language content for various academic institutions and research organizations.

Notable Contributions

Prof. Zemni has made significant contributions to academic research, translation, and cultural studies, with 26 classified research publications (Scopus/WOS indexed) and 9 major research projects. She has worked extensively on the translation of academic and cultural texts, including French-Arabic translations for the Louvre Abu Dhabi, historical and military research, and children’s literature. She has also played a vital role in developing training programs in translation for the Saudi Ministry of Culture. As a dedicated researcher, she has participated in 32 scientific conferences and training programs and is an active member of 17 scientific committees, research laboratories, and peer-reviewed journals.

She currently leads the initiative "Camp for Interdisciplinary Studies in the Field of Languages and Literature Research." This initiative aligns with the university’s fourth strategic goal: Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship System - Distinctive Scientific Publishing. Its objective is to enhance the index of classified scientific research within the College of Languages by fostering collaborative work among department members, aligning research with specialized interests, and establishing local, regional, and international research partnerships. These efforts aim to produce high-quality research publications in WOS-indexed journals with impact factors.
