PROF. DR. RAJ KAMAL WON NOBEL SCIENTIST AWARD IN THE FIELD OF MYCOBACTERIAL RESEARCH


Prof. Raj Kamal has over 24 years of dedicated clinical and research experience in leprosy, tuberculosis (TB), and HIV, with a special focus on pediatric care. He currently serves as Scientist-F (Medical) at the prestigious National JALMA Institute, Agra, under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), where he leads clinical management and research in leprosy and other mycobacterial diseases.

His career began as a Junior Resident in Radiology and Pediatrics in top-tier institutions like G.B. Pant Hospital and Kalawati Saran Children Hospital in New Delhi, followed by his MD residency at SN Medical College, Agra, where he initiated collaborative research in leprosy. Since 2001, he has advanced through multiple scientific positions at JALMA, contributing extensively to both clinical practice and scientific innovation.
